Every manager has to balance delivering results to their organisation, developing each individual contributor and team member as well as building a powerful team. Whether working physically together or remotely, managing performance is at the heart of everything a manager has to do.
In this workshop we explore what ‘performance management’ means and the actions and steps managers can do to help each person meet their targets and develop their full potential. In a post Covid world, we have adapted this very popular programme to focus specifically on how to manage performance when you can’t, physically, be with your people.
By the end of the programme, participants will:
- Be clear on the standards you expect and communicate them to your team
- Measure people against the standard and communicate how they are doing
- Coach, mentor and train to help your people succeed
- Reward those who meet the standard expected
- Manage those who fail to meet the standard
You will also develop your skills in the following areas:
- How to set goals and objectives that motivate and stretch individuals
- How to observe and gather data on how your people are performing
- How to give accurate data-based feedback (on delivery of tasks and behaviour)
- How to address performance ‘gaps’ positively
- How to motivate – and keep motivated – your team members
- How to have difficult, challenging and courageous conversations when the need arises
