Delegation is one of the most important skills to ensure performance targets and workloads are achieved efficiently whilst developing individuals with meaningful work and freeing up the talents of others to be more appropriately deployed. But often we fall into the trap of thinking, “It will be quicker to do it myself.”
Delegating, and delegating when working remotely can be particularly challenging. By making delegating a natural part of what is done, every day, not only can you deliver more but as a manager you have the opportunity to develop people around you. Well practiced delegation also enables team members to prioritise their own work better and drive productivity.
